Donating your used electronics to Village Electronics Recycling for pickup truly Lets us Help You do Good as we donated two laptops to the The Immigration Education Society of Calgary (TIES). This not-for-profit organization provides education and assistance to very recent immigrants to Canada seeking to learn and improve on their English language and literacy skills, along with workplace training and placement and integration services.
It was very humbling to have had the privilege of meeting all of the students, many of whom came from extremely challenging circumstances of war and human displacement. Despite this, along with the challenge of immigrating to a new country and culture, students are happy to be in class learning and improving on their English skills so they can start a peaceful and prosperous life in their new home.
With remote learning more prevalent than ever, the need for laptops for students has never been higher. It was terrific to meet the staff, faculty, and students at TIES and we hope to again soon! Learn more about TIES here.
